14.0 Social, Legal, and Ethical Issues

    Students must realize and plan for issues involving social, legal, and ethical issues in technology. This includes development of a classroom Acceptable Users Policy (AUP) and teaching students about copyright laws and regulations.


14.1 Establish classroom policies and procedures that ensure compliance with copyright law, fair-use guidelines, security and child protection.

    The above link is a sign-up sheet I created on Microsoft Excel that could be included in a classroom that had limited computer use.  It seems that although most classrooms are getting their own computers, this generally means only one computer per classroom.  A sign-up sheet would help ensure that each student would get equal access to that computer.

    This is a great site from the online W200 Hyper Textbook.  It's main heading is on ethics in technology, and it covers privacy issues, copyright issues, and equity issues.  It is a very helpful page.
